Angelica Ma. Barrera-García Dr. Sc.
“I always wanted to study a profession that should be related with nature, and follow my passion for the water and the ocean. Even though at a young age my favorite animal, the killer whale, motivated me to pursue a marine biology career. I ended up studying, knowing and understanding the importance for sharks and rays in our entire marine ecosystem. I also decided to have a Doctorate degree, being the first person and woman in both of my family, and an example for anyone that could achieve all the goals they could imagine.”
She has been working in developing Environmental Management Plans, in fisheries, as a master and bachelor professor and a middle school teacher, and recently in marine conservation.
