This area of work is focused on providing the service for the implementation, coordination and/or participation of projects focused on addressing environmental problems associated with vulnerable ecosystems and species that need sustainable management or long-term conservation measures in search of recovery. Among the most recent consultancies are the following:
- Pew Charitable Trusts. Nov 2022 –Present
Responsible coastal fisheries management for environmental and social Sustainability in Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in Panama. The Provider has made a dedicated commitment to support Pew in their endeavors to collaborate with local fishing communities in Panama.
- University of Antofagasta FIPA Project 2021-24. Sept 21 –Present. Revise the Chilean National Action Plan for Shark Conservation, focusing on assessing management measures, landings, product marketing, by-products, and species traceability within CITES Appendix II.
- Universidad San Francisco de Quito -ETP -PEW. April 2023 –December 2023. Regional Conservation strategies for the Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP).
- Humane Society International – HIS. May 2024 – Present
Support Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) governments, especially Panama, and other organizations in raising awareness and generating support for CITES implementation measures. Collaborate with the Provider to conduct outreach and training trips as needed, aiming to build relationships with countries that were leaders during the previous CoP and continue to champion new proposals for CoP20 in 2025. Attend relevant CITES-related meetings in coordination with project leaders. - Consultant Sharky Management and Consulting LLC and Environmental – HIS. June 2024 – Present
Consultant will assist EIA and NRDC to build relationships with and secure commitments from Latin American governments to lead and/or join a HAC to reduce underwater noise pollution, or otherwise provide leadership for new policy action.
